Before I answer that question, let me teach you a new term that you need to learn.

The term is ‘Micro-Break’.

A Micro-Break is a short, 1 minute movement break that you use when you’ve been sitting for more than 30 minutes.

It is important that you actually move, stretch, contract muscles during the break.

It’s not good enough to walk over to the water cooler and get a sip and then back to work.

You remember the saying “Use It or Lose It”?

That applies very much in this situation.

When you don’t use your muscles, they get smaller, weaker and less able to help you when you need them.

And many people are NOT using their muscles every day, when they sit for long periods of time at their desk, in their car, or at home on the sofa.

Some stand and it’s a bit better, but standing has its problems too.

Start taking Micro-Breaks every half hour.  Use the spinal twist, it’s a good one.
